Studio Luca Guadagnino designs Aesop’s Piccadilly store

Call Me by Your Name director Luca Guadagnino has collaborated with skincare brand Aesop to create the interiors of its new London store inside the storied Piccadilly Arcade.

It’s the second time the director has teamed up with the brand, and his interiors for the London store are enjoyably stark, with a diamond-patterned stone floor that radiates out from a central counter, made from rough-carved marble.

Guadagnino’s design studio – which was set up in 2018 – has kept colour to a minimum, relying mainly on contrasting shades of grey. But there are elements of softness, found in the leather-wrapped bannister and wooden panelling that leads to the second level, which is floored in reclaimed timber.

The store is only the third interior design project for the director, who has also worked on an Aesop store in Rome,  featuring similarly rough stone and patterned flooring, as well as a home on Italy’s Lake Como. Interiors and set design are however crucial to his film practice. Find out more.
