The New Orleans home of Your Honor character Judge Michael Desiato celebrated modern Creole design, but for Bryan Cranston’s real-life Californian compound it’s all about eco-minimalism.
Cranston built the oceanfront Ventura property, dubbed Three Palms, in 2013 to maximise its sustainability. The net-zero home is set across 2,450 sq ft and has an open layout with bright living areas that open up to the home’s beachfront setting via Schuco sliding glass doors.
‘I put my heart, soul, sweat and often tears into it, and I’m glad because it was such an artistic endeavour, and yet functional,’ Cranston wrote in a press release about the California property. ‘There’s something lovely about creating something with tremendous pride and effort, and turning it over… letting someone else take it to the next level of appreciation.”
The three-bedroom house is LEED-platinum certified and produces as much energy as it consumes. Rooms have a built-in ELAN smart home system, polished concrete and white-washed walls, while other features include soaking tubs, a home office and cosy, ocean-facing reading nook in the living room.
Three Palms is listed for $4,995,000 via Jon Perkins and Kate Walsh of Coldwell Banker.
