For creative nomads eager to experience a cultural dimension to their Ibiza sojourn, the new seasonal gallery Gathering has reopened for summer with a collection of site-specific art installations. In collaboration with Berlin gallery Société, the London gallery’s Ibiza satellite is showing the work of international contemporary artists including Petra Cortright, Tamara K.E., Wynnie Mynerva, Bunny Rogers and Marianna Simnett. Titled Sunset Strip, the exhibition also features work by the gallery’s annual residents: UK artist Tai Shani and Mexico’s Stefan Brüggemann.

The roster of artists will feature until September 1 across the high-ceilinged Sant Miquel de Balansat gallery and its interconnecting restaurant, Mira, keeping late hours for the duration of the season.

Drawing on motifs of island life, dozens of ceramics, textiles and paintings will colour the light-flooded hybrid venue, setting the scene for a contemporary summer salon. A previous Turner Prize-winner, Shani has outfitted the restaurant with a marble-esque facade and bubblegum-pink bar, and hung her eye-catching breast-shaped blown-glass lanterns over top. Out in the dining garden, amid the low tables and bamboo seating, is one of the artist’s oversized sculptural candles, a version of which was commissioned by New York’s High Line. Stefan Brüggemann has added one of his mirrored spray paintings.

Summer programming at Mira includes a Sunday vinyl session called Aperitivo Analogico, a Monday-evening listening bar and a programme of artist talks — along with a series of pop-up dinners and guest-chef collaborations.
