An angular brick and timber house on the Norfolk coast is available for £695,000

This blackened brick and timber house on England’s Norfolk coast looks like it’s been sliced in half.

Lynch Architects designed the angular structure, taking cues from the original 1950s bungalow it replaced, as well as the windmills that dot the local landscape. It was built in 2003 as a weekend getaway spot for artist Alison Mitchell.

Inside, the living room features a 7.5-m-tall chimney with a skylight. Elsewhere, the breakfast room opens out on the water meadows and salt marshes, which give the home its name of Marsh View.

A mirrored studio building and carport – also designed by Lynch Architects – were added later in 2008.

Marsh View is available to buy for £695,000 via The Modern House.
