A commune in northern Brittany shaped by islands, Penvénan is a raw, rocky setting for historic chapels and this granite house, on a small point above the shore. The setting feels remote, yet the markets, cafés and services of the village are close by, and Lannion station, 26 minutes by car, places Paris within easy reach. On this quiet stretch of coast, the GR34 coastal path traces the water’s edge and local life shifts with the tides.
The 145sqm house is arranged in two perpendicular wings, faced in granite rubble and dressed stone, with slate roofs and traditional lucarne windows punctuating the elevations. A walled garden wraps around the property, its seaward edge defined only by a low stone boundary above the pebble beach.
The main entrance leads indoors to a generous living room oriented to the bay, with a restored granite fireplace and aluminium double glazing to frame the view. The kitchen and bathroom, both facing the coast, sit in the rear extension while a ground-floor room with a working fireplace offers flexible use. Upstairs, three bedrooms and an atelier with original floorboards unfold beneath timber ceilings; they have multiple outlooks to the sea.
A 67sqm outbuilding and two wartime blockhouses complete the 1,023sqm site, listed for €1,196,000 with Patrice Besse.
