House-sharing platform Airbnb is looking to the future with its new initiative, inviting 12 lucky participants to spend a year living for free in its listings across the globe.
In addition to covering the costs for each winner, plus three friends, the platform will provide a transport allowance and organise experiences for participants as part of the initiative, which will begin in July 2021.
Why? Participants will feel into Airbnb’s platform development by sharing their experiences, feedback and help introduce product changes and resources Airbnb offers in the future, including ‘long-term living experience’.
Airbnb’s announcement taps into the post-pandemic shift towards long-term remote working, adopted by many companies in the last 12 months. A recent study produced by the company revealed that up to 74% of people expressed interest in living somewhere other than where their company is based, even after the pandemic.
Digital nomads must commit to being part of the programme for 12 consecutive months, and interested parties can read more about the initiative and apply here.
