A storybook Suffolk cottage asks for £675k

Country charm pours from the whitewashed bricks of this Grade II-listed Suffolk property in the sleepy village of Huntingfield.

Originally two connected cottages dating from the 16th century, the four-bedroom home has been united and extended with a contemporary rear extension that works sensitively with the architectural vernacular of the original building and blends heritage with modern comfort.

Part of the restoration involved installing a new roof, applying traditional lime plaster, and carefully preserving the building’s original features—verdigris-painted beams, terracotta brick flooring, and open fireplaces. These details contrast with the architect-designed kitchen by Gorniak and McKechnie, which introduces birch ply ceilings, stainless steel cabinetry, plus a cheerful yellow Everhot range for a warm, country touch.

Beams add character throughout the ground floor, while upstairs, a cantilevered walkway and twin staircases connect four bedrooms.

Inigo is listing the Suffolk property for £675,000. Just 20 minutes from the Suffolk Heritage Coast, the cottage is wrapped in landscaped gardens and an orchard, with a large terrace, wood-fired hot tub, and a garden studio complete with a wood-burning stove.
