Russian audiovisual duo 404.zero have partnered with Fact to release four NFTs in a virtual exhibition this week, the latest of which captures an empty St Petersburg in lockdown.
The augmented reality artwork, titled Arrival, is the fourth in the series by Kristina Karpysheva and Alexander Letsius, with the NFTs up for auction on specialist platform SuperRare. Ahead of the sale, they’re being showcased on Fact in a virtual exhibition launched this week.
404.zero spent most of the lockdown in St Petersburg and shot Arrival from their window using an AR Instagram filter they created in New York last year. It’s the pair’s first AR filter and overlays real-life footage with imagined digital elements to blend fact with fiction.
