Car manufacturer Aston Martin has revealed its first home in New York’s Hudson Valley – a rural retreat that wraps around the surrounding rocky landscape.
The compound was designed in partnership with SR Architecture and is made up of a series of living ‘pods’ topped by a roof that echoes the jagged edges of the nearby boulders.
Sylvan Rock – which will begin construction next year, and is listed via The Corcoran Group for $7.7m – sits on a 55-acre plot, two hours outside of Manhattan. It’s accessed by a 2000-foot long driveway that meanders through the craggy Hudson Valley site, which is framed by the house’s glazed walls.
The roof swoops down to create a covered carport and gallery, which leads up and into the home. The master bedroom is located in a cantilevered section of the New York property, and there’s also a wine cellar, office, and indoor-outdoor swimming pool.
All of Sylvan Rock’s spaces are designed to be multi-functional, and easily adapted to become guest rooms, remote working offices or wellness centres. There’s also a dedicated wellness ‘pod’ including a spa and treatment rooms.
