Lofty LA prefab by Kenneth Lind asks for $1.75m

Treehouse meets barn living at this prefab Los Angeles property by modernist architect Kenneth Lind in the Franklin Hills of Los Feliz.

Only a few of Lind’s award-winning prefab designs survive unaltered and fewer in their full mcm glory but 2044 Mayview Drive has been faithfully updated by its designer owner in the spirit of Lind’s breezy original.

Rustic vibes come from painted tongue and groove wood panelling, used extensively across the two-bedroom-plus-den hillside property’s interiors. Hardwood flooring and painted beams create the framework, while bursts of greenery come from the garden – visible through walls of industrial-framed glass.

The serene hideaway is listed via Compass for £1.75m and includes a carport and workshop.
