Rapper turned fashion designer Kanye West has added another string to his bow – architecture – with the launch of his first YEEZY home, the Social Housing Project.
It’s a speedy unveiling for West, who only announced plans to launch the YEEZY home arm of his brand last month. He has teamed up with Petra Kustrin, Jalil Peraza, Nejc Škufca and Vadik Marmeladov on the social housing project, built from a prefabricated concrete shell.
Peraza took to Instagram to unveil a first glimpse of the neo-brutalist structure, which features a sunken concrete courtyard and flat-roofed design, and appears to take cues from the label’s YEEZY Studio in Calabasas.
West says he established YEEZY Home to ‘make the world a better place’ but there’s no word yet on when or where YEEZY’s Social Housing Project will be built.
It’s been a busy month for West, who just dropped his eighth album, YE, and has been making headlines for his controversial comments about slavery…
