Countryside views and ecclesiastical features combine at this chapel in the UK’s Cotswold, which goes under the hammer on 25 February with a guide price of £250,000.

The Grade II-listed building is in the picturesque village of Cold Ashton and is marketed as a renovation challenge. Though disused and slightly crumbly in places, there’s plenty to work with, including stone walls, rafted ceilings, original floorboards, period fireplaces and vast stained glass windows.

Currently, the Cotswolds property is set over three floors, while the tower – whose stonework will need repairing – is empty. Later additions include a kitchen and bathroom which will need replacing, but with the help of an architect, some creative vision, and deep pockets, it could become a striking three-bedroom residence, subject to planning.

The chapel is for sale with a 0.4-acre plot overlooking St Catherine’s Valley. It goes up for auction at 7 pm on Tuesday 25 February 2020, at All Saints Church Pembroke Road in Clifton, Bristol BS8 2HY.
