With its shining aluminium shell and tapered bow and stern, the new Bowlus Road Chief Wave trailer is inspired by life on the open waves.
The 26-foot-long caravan draws on the silhouette and interiors of a yacht to shape its design, while its fabricated aircraft-grade, polished aluminium shell is a nod to the career of company founder, Hawley Bowlus – a pilot in the 1930s.
Interiors of The Wave trailer – which sells for $225,000 and is being built in limited numbers – feature blonde birch and walnut walls and surfaces. It sleeps up to four people, with the bedroom tucked at one end of the caravan and the living area and kitchenette at the other. Upholstery is navy blue throughout, while other nautical nods come in the shape of porthole windows.
Meanwhile, solar panels and 4 kWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries mean the trailer can go off-grid for up to a week.
