Peek inside a quaint and rustic Victorian cottage outside Sydney

The historic town of Windsor sits at the far reaches of suburban Sydney, on the edge of the Australian outback. Among its traditional Victorian-era homes is this 1860s corrugated-roof cottage, meticulously restored by noted Australian designer Linda Gregoriou. Bright and rustic, it has a cosy country kitchen with a working brick fireplace, two bedrooms sharing a bathroom with underfloor heating and an open, loft-style sitting room with tongue-and-groove panelled walls and timber ceilings.

Its landscaped English-style garden leads to a separate barn with a split-slab design unique to the region. The barn can be transformed into a second home, short-term accommodation or artist’s studio, subject to permission.

The two-bedroom home is located less than an hour from Sydney proper and a five-minute walk from Thompson Square and the quaint shops of central Windsor.

It’s currently on the market with Darren Pearce and David Smith-Cameron BresicWhitney, with price on application.
