Topics of cooperation and participation underpin the 2023 London Design Biennale at London’s Somerset House, where attendees can do everything from making bricks to watching bread being baked.
It’s the fourth edition of the event, and this year brings together more than 40 designers from around the world, all of whom have been invited to respond to the 2023 theme of The Global Game: Remapping Collaboration.

Pavilions cover a wide range of subject matter, from Automorph’s Creative Differences installation, which features fantastical plants and sea creatures, to Omotunwase Osinaike’s Natural Synthesis, which draws on West African tradition with its depiction of animal life.
Others are more overtly interactive, in particular Hassell and To.org’s Bidi Bidi Music & Arts Centre, which lets people press their own raw earth bricks.
London’s Somerset House hosts the festival, which is on display until 25 June 2023.
