British architect Syd Furness designed this low-lying Cambridge home for his family in 1979, and its timeless design is one of the best examples of modernist architecture in the city.
The four-bedroom UK property is on the market via The Modern House for £1.295m and sits on a leafy plot surrounded by gardens.
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, Furness used extensive amounts of glass across the timber beam house’s walls and roof.
Beams are exposed throughout the house and are painted black to contrast the pale timber floors and white walls. Shared living spaces fill one end of the house, with bedrooms in the other wing.
