Another Bar opens in Singapore with neon interiors that set it apart from the crowd

A New Singapore club, Another Bar, sets out to prove it anything but, thanks to its playful interiors by Hui Designs, which gives the classic dive bar a Gen Z twist.

Another Bar is located in the vibrant Bras Basah neighbourhood, and as its self-deprecating name might suggest, it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Designer Siew Hui Lim has doused the space in bold vermilion and red tones.

Another Bar’s motto is ‘to answer the call of the disco ball’, and clusters of glittering mirror balls hang above the bar, adding a touch of kitsch alongside neon signage. The bar is the main focal point of the space, incorporating the DJ booth with a flashing ticker tape above it.

Large concrete columns cross the interior, and rather than fight against them, Lim has used them to help ‘zone’ the space, with a games area, beer pong set up, and seating. Steel elements contrast plywood panels and raw concrete, adding to the neo-industrial aesthetic

Swifties will get a kick from the drinks menu, which pays homage to the ‘Anti-Hero’ singer’s latest release. The ‘Tortured Poet’ is made with tequila, lemon, and red wine, while ‘Not So Cruel Summer’ is a fruity sip made with champagne and strawberry popsicles.
