Surfer’s paradise hotel Drift San José is seeking new owners

Named one of Mexico’s top boutique stays

Looking a new adventure in 2019? How about becoming a hotelier and snapping up award-winning Mexican bolthole Drift San José.

The nine-bedroom surfer’s paradise sits on the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula in the town of San José del Cabo. Formerly an apartments complex, its owners tapped architect Pablo Torres-Trueba to convert it into a minimalist boutique hotel, complete with sleek concrete swimming pool, roof deck, mezcal bar and a 96-cover courtyard for events.

Dezeen named it one of ‘Mexico’s Top Seven Boutique Hotels’ in 2018 and Drift San Jose – on the market via Last Rock Real Estate for $2.2m – is being pitched at foreign investors, with the titles, licences, permits, booking engine, suppliers and staff all in place.

The boutique hotel sits at the heart of San José del Cabo’s Art District, close to the town centre and beach – popular with surfers and divers exploring Cabo Pulmo.
