Child Studio has designed an imaginary beach villa, intended as an Instagram-friendly antidote to lockdown.

The practice had been in the middle of creating the interiors for skincare brand Plenaire’s first store in London but had to put the project on hold during the coronavirus outbreak. Instead, they redirected their attention to Villa Plenaire – a digital holiday home designed for lockdown daydreams.

It brings together all the classic elements of a seaside villa, including whitewashed walls, ocean views, and sun-drenched terraces. The space has been filled with virtual versions of pieces by Eero Aarnio, and Greta von Nessen, and includes a circular stone bathtub and outdoor shower. The rippling sea in the distance might only be a rendering, but Villa Plenaire is as close as we’re all going to get to a beach stay right now.
