Pastel and concrete reigns supreme at Moscow’s Pink Mama restaurant

A pink and green palette softens the industrial interiors of this Stalinist-era building in Moscow, now home to restaurant Pink Mama.

There are more than a few Instagram-friendly touches inside the Moscow restaurant, including terrazzo flooring, plush velvet banquettes and chairs, and low-hanging lighting surrounded by copper cages.

Crosby Studios designed the restaurant, which is close to Moscow’s White House, and several government agencies. This is playfully referenced a massive star hung on the wall and the bar’s red-light glow which makes for some serious mood lighting when night falls.

Those eating can expect a softer touch: the dining room is decked out in pale pinks and greens, and shaded by fabric screens. The building itself has undergone only minor alterations, leaving its concrete walls and ceilings exposed.
