Can you spot the Wes Anderson influence at this Moscow restaurant?

Moscow restaurant The Y is decked out in a pastel colour palette that’s said to be inspired by Wes Anderson’s movies.

New York studio Asthetique designed the interiors, bringing together flashes of pale blue, pink and green across the restaurant. Wes Anderson is known for his strong visual aesthetic, and on first glance The Y doesn’t look overly kitschy, but subtle details are said to pay homage to the auteur, according to Dezeen.

Lights spring out of the Moscow eatery’s walls, suspended in huge brass hoops, and timber panelling is topped with creeping plants. Eagle-eyed diners will be able to spot a few extra quirky details, such as hand-painted flower illustrations and a pair of illuminated dancers.

The practice avoided a singular style for the furniture, mixing and matching velvet-covered benches and chairs with wooden seating and marble-topped tables.

The Y is located over two floors and includes a pair of open kitchens as well as a private dining space and a secret playroom that’s behind a hidden door.
